Environment

Guided by CalCIMA's Environmental Principles, our members seek excellence in environmental and health and safety performance through wide ranging efforts in all areas of their operations.

CalCIMA members comply with hundreds of complex county, state, and federal laws and regulations relating to environment, health and safety. By seeking to meet both the letter and the spirit of these laws, CalCIMA members express their commitment to environmental stewardship, ethical conduct, and good corporate citizenship.

Nevertheless, aggregate and mineral production are an interim land use. After providing the materials necessary for infrastructure and other societal needs, the land is reclaimed and restored. In California, aggregate and mineral producers reclaim land to nearly 50 diverse and desirable uses, including open space, agriculture, and recreation. Check this site's "Reclamation" page to see how lands are reclaimed, and "Publications" for a reclamation brochure and survey.
