Student Scholarships Deadline June 8

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) is seeking applications by June 8, 2018, for two scholarships for college students.

Do you know a college student pursuing a degree related to the aggregate industry? The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) is seeking applications by June 8, 2018, for two scholarships available to college students.

2018 Barry K. Wendt Memorial Scholarship

This $2,500 scholarship is given annually to one student who plans to pursue a career in the aggregates industry. Eligible students will be enrolled in a mining-related degree program and will have completed at least one year of college coursework. Click here to learn more and apply. It was created to honor the memory of the late Barry K. Wendt, an NSSGA member who tirelessly devoted his energy to advancing the causes of the aggregates industry.

2018 Jennifer Curtis Byler Scholarship

This $5,000 scholarship is reserved for a child of an aggregates industry employee who wishes to pursue collegiate studies in public policy, government affairs or related fields. Learn more and submit an application here. The Jennifer Curtis Byler Scholarship Fund memorializes the life and accomplishments of the daughter of Jack Curtis, L.C. Curtis and Son, a Georgia sand and gravel producer. Jennifer was a mother of four who was involved in the political process. She served on various boards and commissions, including the Republican National Committee, and was an effective fundraiser for Republican candidates.
