CalCIMA Announces New President/CEO

The CalCIMA Board of Directors has announced their selection of Robert Dugan to be the new President & CEO.  He will replace Gary Hambly who will retire at the end of July.  Hambly has held the position of President/CEO since 2007.

Robert Dugan brings a combination of issue management, government relations, and communications experience to the position, as well as knowledge of the industry.  Robert will be leaving his position as Vice President of Advocacy and Public Affairs for the Associated General Contractors of California. Previously, he was Director of Government Affairs for Granite Construction, and during that time he served as Chair of CalCIMA's Governmental Affairs Committee.

Robert has 35 years of experience working in the construction materials industry, State Legislature, and lobbying for construction, utility and academic institutions. This has included executing public policy and advocacy programs at the local, state, and federal level.

He has also held community and industry leadership positions with Chambers of Commerce, state and national trade associations, the Roseville Planning Commission, Placer County Water Agency, Sacramento State Alumni Association, and the Sierra College Foundation.

“Robert has always exhibited exceptional acumen and skills in addressing government and public relations challenges. Combined with an understanding of members' working environments, he is an excellent choice to lead CalCIMA in the coming years. I encourage all members to welcome him,” said Gary Hambly.

Robert is a graduate from Cal State University Sacramento, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in marketing and a minor in communications. He and his family live in Roseville.

Robert Dugan will begin as President/CEO on July 27.
