Climate Tech

We are excited to introduce the formation of a new membership designation to help member companies highlight and brand the sustainability priorities for their low-carbon products and services. It is called Climate Technology (Climate Tech). The Climate Tech designation recognizes members leading the way in developing and producing new low-carbon technologies and products. We are looking to engage the brightest minds in the industry working to reduce carbon in materials, increase recycling, and advance lower-carbon processes and materials—all designed to reduce waste, lower emissions, and fulfill the nation-leading climate goals set by California. This new membership designation will be the foundation of new campaigns celebrating our industry's impact in driving the sustainable growth of California's communities, economy, and environmental protections.

By joining Climate Tech, you'll have the opportunity to:
  1. Gain recognition: Showcase your company's leadership in reducing the carbon footprint of California's infrastructure projects.
  2. Network: Connect with fellow industry leaders committed to a more sustainable future.
  3. Drive Innovation: Take advantage of a new platform to further drive sustainability and environmental stewardship innovations.

Eligibility Requirements

Associate Members whose products and/or services provide emerging technology alternatives or additives to raw materials resulting in carbon reduction in our manufactured products such as concrete or asphalt. Associate members who qualify for this category would only pay the published flat rate of $2500 instead of the annual dues rate based on company size.

Producer and Essential Materials Members who have products, materials, brands, or technologies that reduce carbon or advance other sustainability benefits and would like to designate them as Climate Technology, provided they are paying dues on those  products, materials, brands, or technologies. This can advance the branding of your products or line of materials. Dues rates will be based on the published price of your member class, calculated on production, but no less than $2500.

How to Apply

We ask that you respond to express your interest by July 31, 2024. Please include a statement of qualifications which includes a description of the process and/or product(s) used in reducing carbon in our materials. It is important to note we want to apply this designation to specific products or processes that directly lower the carbon or have environmental benefit from materials produced by members. It is not for something that has wide or general application across other industry sectors.

Members who qualify for the Climate Tech designation will receive a “Climate Tech Member” logo and a social media template post announcing your designation and commitment to sustainability. We are happy to hold brief informational meetings to discuss the goals we have with our new Climate Tech designation and answer any questions you may have. Please let me know if that would be of interest to you.

We are proud that our industry is playing a leading role in a more sustainable future for our state and nation. Thank you for considering this new opportunity to showcase the important difference your company and people are making. Contact Stephanie Pridmore at spridmore@calcima.org for questions.
