Emerging Leaders Academy
CalCIMA’s Board of Directors has recognized the need for succession planning and leadership training for our industry and has made a commitment to have CalCIMA lead the way by providing an opportunity for your emerging leaders to have access to a leadership training course with proven results. We have teamed up with Peak Performance Group to provide this comprehensive course and we invite you to consider participating.
Purpose: To help develop leadership skills within the aggregate, concrete, and industrial materials industry that are independent of in-house corporate training programs; foster relationships among peer groups; help improve retention of industry professionals; stress the importance of CalCIMA involvement in shaping the industry within California; and promote the importance of community involvement for our industry. Program will be managed through the CalCIMA’s Board and facilitated by a leadership development professional.
Who: Any CalCIMA Member. The Course Application is attached. Deadline is Friday, December 6, 2019 for applications to be submitted.
Why: Our industry is rapidly changing for the better. Increased population in California and the recent funding for transportation and infrastructure brings increased demand for aggregates, concrete, and industrial materials. As the companies that supply those products continue grow, so does the demand for leadership. As an association that represents the best interest of the industry, CalCIMA has an obligation to help better educate the next generation of our leaders. To that end, CalCIMA is launching an Emerging Leaders Program targeting those within the industry that have high leadership potential. The goal is to prepare them for leadership roles within our industry by presenting them with various leadership concepts, the importance that CalCIMA has on our industry, and the need for our industry to be connected to the community in which we operate.
Cost: $2750 per person which includes 6 sessions plus materials throughout the year (2019). The courses will alternate between northern and southern California and will coincide with other CalCIMA meetings.
