Cal/OSHA 2024 Top 10 Most Frequently Cited Standards: A Summary and Strategies to Enhance Workplace Safety
Every year, Cal/OSHA publishes its top 10 most frequently cited standards across all industries. These standards are important for employers to recognize and consider while preparing workplace safety policies and practices. Citations to these standards are frequent because they relate to underlying safety policies such as the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, highlighting the need for employers to prepare adequate workplace safety materials. Moreover, many of these standards have been in the top 10 list for many consecutive years, indicating that Cal/OSHA focuses on these standards when conducting inspections.
This presentation will summarize these ten most frequently cited standards for 2024 and briefly discuss strategies to avoid or mitigate potential citations. Attention will be given to those standards that apply more specifically to CalCIMA members, with an ultimate focus on the enhancing workplace safety.
