Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative
The Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative will be responsible for assisting customers’ daily needs; working alongside the Sales team and directly with customers to schedule and dispatch material trucks throughout San Diego and fulfill other sales duties as needed.  This is a great opportunity to take the lead on answering phones, interacting with customers, scheduling deliveries, and offering product information and pricing.
  • Receives customer orders via telephone in addition to quote and product submittal requests.
  • Offers product information and pricing
  • Fulfills requests by clarifying required information; completing transactions; researching, locating, and providing information as needed.
  • Sells additional services by recognizing opportunities to up-sell accounts; introducing customers to new products and/or features.
  • Expands job and product knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Entry of customer orders into the shared scheduling platform
  • Resolves problems by identifying issues; researching and exploring answers and possible solutions; communicating with stakeholders; escalating unresolved problems.
  • Schedules orders to ensure efficient, and cost effective movement of trucks and materials including back hauls.
  • Assigns delivery times continuously throughout the day based on product availability, plant location, plant hours, time of delivery and truck availability. 
  • Re-arrange schedule continuously to accommodate cancellations, quantity changes, and priority orders.
  • Enhances reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years of dispatching and/or construction experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) desirable
  • Must have excellent computer skills, reports/documentation, and system functionality
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Sharp critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, dimensions, and area.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables and situations.
  • Highly dependable, ability to work in fast paced call center environment
  • Ability to tactfully and professionally deal with customers both internal and external
