Ready-mix Concrete Manager (High Desert/Antelope Valley)

As a Ready-Mix Area Manager, you are primarily responsible for the attainment of production and distribution objectives for assigned ready-mix plants. This includes the supervision and training of drivers and plant personnel, compliance with safety regulations, and working to instill a culture of continuous improvement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee area with multiple RMX plants
  • Supervise drivers, batch, and yard personnel in assigned area, assisting with recruiting, ongoing training, day-to-day scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
  • Provides support and coaching to employees; answering grievances, planning, monitoring and appraising performance objectives
  • Coordinate with Environmental and Safety departments to ensure that all personnel and facilities are in compliance with company, state, federal, and local regulations and requirements
  • Work with both the sales and technical services team to identify/resolve customer service needs and ensure product quality
  • Coordinate with maintenance department for plant repairs and assist plant personnel with minor repairs, maintenance and break downs
  • Evaluate procedures to ensure plant inspections are performed and actions are taken to correct any deficiencies
  • Maintains plant and plant staff performance objectives by providing clear direction and expectations
  • Manage raw materials within assigned area
  • Manage and utilize production and GPS software.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum five years of work experience required (Construction or concrete industry experience preferred) with a minimum of two years in a managerial role
  • Experience with production and GPS software
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
