Process Maintenance Mechanic/Welder
A Process Maintenance Mechanic/ Welder is a skilled technician who applies a broad level of process and mechanical/maintenance knowledge to maximize and, where possible, improve the efficiency of the overall production process.
Technician should be proficient in various welding techniques, pipe welding and cutting. Employee should also have experience with fabrication/repair and a good command of reading layouts/blue prints/manuals. In addition, would also be able to complete a BOM (Bill of Materials) for various projects and repair work, site-wide.
Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on stationary plant (CIC’s, Gold Plant and Refinery) equipment which involves strong troubleshooting skills to fix problems on equipment and ability to repair equipment accordingly.
Ability to prioritize daily tasks to maximize one’s efficiency. Employee must possesses the ability to work in a strong team environment with excellent communication skills. Candidate will display a positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times.  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise good work ethic. The successful candidate will be willing and able to pursue extra educational endeavors, for continuous improvement of their knowledge in this area.    
Incumbent must adhere to and practice all regulatory agencies rules and regulations (MSHA, Cal-OSHA, EPA).

Requirements Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
  1. Ability to complete a pre-task Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA) per task. This will include competent completions of: Inspections, various Safety Permits, Safe Work Plans and be able to implement safety preventative measures to ensure safe completion of task.
  1. Ability to repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, troubleshoot and preventative maintenance of process equipment i.e. pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, filters, etc.
  1. Competent in plant mechanical skills, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, blue prints, and schematics.
  1. Follows and understands MSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and equipment correctly at all times.
  1. Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to Business/Operational/Mechanical needs with adequate training provided.
  1. Must be willing and able to operate process mining equipment such as: Fork Lift, Extend-A-Boom Forklift, Man Lift, Scissor Lift, Electrical Bucket Truck, and Boom Truck.
Education/Experience, Skills/Abilities, and Knowledge:
Education / Certification: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience:
  1. (3-5) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction)
  2. (3-5) years’ of a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  3. Ability to pass a Welding Certification in either Structural or Pipe (within a year of employment).
  1. Proficiency in welding/cutting (MIG, TIG, ARC, Oxy-acetylene),
  2. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and Repair: hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, plumbing, machine shop, blue prints, schematics, fabrication, and part lists.
  3. Ability to comprehend and communicate job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards in English.
  4. Should process basics computer proficiency.
  5. Must be able to identify the appropriate tools/products or equipment suitable for the task/job in order to maximize time efficiently.
  6. Time management.
  7. Ability to proactively prioritize daily tasks to be efficient and follow direction.
  8. Strong organizational, memory and interpersonal skills.
  9. Attention to detail.

Typical Working Conditions:

The worksite has frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, uneven terrain dust and high wind conditions and occasional flash flooding.  The mine site also has daily blasting schedule that can be felt and heard throughout the property.  There is a variety of desert wildlife around office buildings and throughout the mine property that may or may not be dangerous and /or poisonous or protected species.  A variety of desert plant life is also abundant in and around the mine site.   
Exposure to dust, allergens, fumes, noise, must wear proper PPE in the work areas as required.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required when venturing out into the production areas that includes hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, safety vest, and other PPE as determined to protect the individual.

The employee is required to diagnose and repair, fixed plant equipment, pumps, motors, piping. fabricate and weld piping, manipulating materials, tools and control mechanisms, bending, standing, climb stairs and ladders, sitting for prolonged periods, lifting, twisting, reaching, bending, crawling, holding, finger dexterity, climbing,  mount/dis-mount equip. several times each shift, kneeling, crouching, work with arms extended overhead, safely move/maneuver large equip, work extended periods while wearing respiratory and/or hearing protection devices as required, repetitive and sometimes stressful motion of all limbs and head/neck during the entire course of the shift.
May be required to lift or maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs with aid and following proper lifting techniques. or more,
