Lab Technician/Quality Control
Blue Mountain Minerals, the largest producer of limestone and dolomite products in Northern California, is looking for an industrial lab technician for its quarry in Columbia, California.  This is an opportunity for a full-time, entry-level technician who is interested in learning new skills and responsibilities in a rural setting with a rich history and numerous recreational opportunities.
Pay rate commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, and 401K match.  Successful candidates will be required to pass drug screen, physical, and aptitude testing.  Relocation expenses will not be provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • learning all sampling and laboratory procedures and mastering all quality control/quality assurance measures for the company.
  • conducting routine testing of all raw materials, in-process materials, and finished materials, to ensure quality control of products. 
  • communicating test results in a timely manner to the supervisor and production team and properly document in a database.
  • ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained in and around the lab. 
  • troubleshooting problems and reviewing basic product specifications. 
  • inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining testing equipment periodically.
In addition, the individual may be responsible for occasional loading of trucks as a weighmaster.

Requirements Job Requirements
  • Laboratory, quality control, and/or quality assurance experience preferred
  • Shift work: must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work and a strong commitment to corporate goals
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions precisely
  • Excellent reading comprehension, writing, and computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in all weather conditions in a normal production environment
  • High standards of safety for self and for others
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
