Rock Quarry Foreman
Essential Functions

• Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
• Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
• Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
• Determines labor needs to meet production goals
• Assists with budget preparation for the operations unit.
• Direct, train, and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving, safety, and customer service, and inventory control.
• Coordinate plant activities through planning with driver scheduling to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Develop and control profits, plans, and budgets.
• Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
• Manages capital asset maintenance. 
• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, quality, and safety standards.
• Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with environmental & safety requirements/standards, reporting, and managing.
• Oversees safety training, policy, and procedures for area of responsibility.
• Ensures all employees adhere to and follow safety policies, rules, and regulations.
• Actively be involved with personnel regarding safety programs including MSHA and OSHA inspections, training, and site inspections. 
• Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
• Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
• Provides direction, development, and leadership to direct reports.
• Responsible for the performance management of all plant personnel.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly report compliance.
• Responsible for P & L and all line items of Facility
• Performs other related duties as required.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work may vary but are generally Monday through Friday and occasional weekends, 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Shift time and total hours worked may be adjusted/vary due to work demand and seasonal requirements. Overtime is mandatory when needed.

Pay$120-140k based on experience.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or five years of plant/general management experience in an aggregate, concrete, or construction environment.
• Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
• Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
• Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• A current, unrestricted, California Class C License is required
