Plant Manager-Secondary
Job Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for Primary Production or Secondary Manufacturing within the A.R. Wilson Quarry operation. This includes leadership and oversight of operations teams, product quality and driving plant efficiency to ensure alignment with Graniterock’s Strategic Priorities and business objectives.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Comply, understand, and promote safety initiatives to ensure “Safety Before All Else.”
- Oversee day to day operations of the plant, including, production, loading and shipping to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.
- Work with the Quarry Manager to lead and execute the strategic plan that meet long-term financial and operational viability of the quarry. Deliver financial objectives in assisting in the preparation of the annual profit plan, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions for the Products Operating Group.
- Interface with Quarry teams (including subcontractors) as required, to resolve problems, ensure quality, safety, scheduling and achieving schedules in support of overall project objectives.
- Initiate and oversee the recruitment, selection, and coaching of Team Members on performance management to set and communicate objectives, identify, and reward employee success, provide advancement opportunities to ensure a high-performance culture.
- Work with the Production Manager to develop and execute on the Capital Project Strategy (CapX) and Systems to ensure operations capabilities and capacity meets the existing and future market need.
- Ensure compliance with all MSHA/OSHA, environmental and all other local, state and federal requirements.
- Provide support in the continuous development of the long term and short-term mine plans to ensure viability of the Quarry operation.

Requirements |
Education and Work Experience
- BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil, highway or plant operations
- 5+ years experience supervising Aggregate, Materials or Construction operations including staffing, and planning desired.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Demonstrated knowledge of construction or mining operations (technology, equipment, methods), procedures and standards.
· Knowledge of aggregate production operations
· Demonstrated knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
· Knowledge of union shop environment, as all employee related laws and regulations.
· Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, decision making and problem-solving skills required.
· Demonstrated ability to address multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with all MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
· Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
